Hi again, I'm Melinda!
My passion for building inclusive technology has inspired me to approach design and development through understanding diverse perspectives.
I think great design stems from exploring how people think and act and that giving a voice to people will allow technology creators to develop innovative, accessible, and impactful solutions.

My Journey
I studied at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly, SLO) receiving a BS in Computer Science and a Minor in Mathematics. Through these degrees, I gained valuable analytical, creative-thinking, and collaborative teamwork skills.
After graduating, I started a full-time SWE position at Cisco. As a front-end developer, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about a product’s lifecycle, from its conception and design, to implementation, and through its deployment. However, I felt I had a limited view of what I was building; I lacked the information on why we were creating what we were and for whom it was for.
I recently graduated with a MS in Human Computer Interaction degree from Georgia Tech where I gained an expanded perspective as a developer, to understand the context of use and the user experience of technology through data-driven research and design.
I continually seek to strengthen my commitment to human-centered research, design, and engineering in the world of technology! I am currently seeking full-time roles as a UX Designer or UX Engineer.
